Today, we visited the striking ruins of Herculaneum. It was amazing to see the remainder of such an ancient and great civilisation. I enjoyed seeing the skeletons of people's bodies 1000s of years ago, how amazing. We saw remarkably well preserved Villas once owned by great merchants and generals, and some simply by the lowest labourer. It was sensational how the essence of such mighty people could be captured in the unyielding stones and buttresses of the sturdy edifices of Herculaneum. On a less profound note, we had a truly charming lunch, not only because of the quality of the food, but also because of the budget we were restricted to. As per usual, we spent a great afternoon at the beach, before an equally great dinner, which I enjoyed thoroughly. I (Zac) ended the evening by dropping my swimming trunks out of the window onto the balcony of people who have very helpfully taken their key on their travels around the town. I’m not sure I’ll see them again; they were too small anyway. (Mr Parvin is not sure if Zac is referring to the people or his trunks.)
